Viktor Nyberg (b. 1989 in Stockholm) is a Swedish jazz bassist. Born into a musical family, Nyberg began playing trumpet and singing at a very early age and quickly developed a strong passion for music.
At 18, he quits the trumpet to play bass and, in 2012, got his bachelor’s in double bass from the Royal College of Music in Stockholm after having studied abroad at the University of North Texas and CNSM de Paris. During his time as an Erasmus Student in Paris he quickly established himself as one of the most in-demand bassists in France.
Since then, he has been recording/touring with an array of artists, such as Ari Hoenig, Gael Horellou, Jeremy Pelt, Eric Alexander, Veronica Swift, Baptiste Trotignon, Jackie Terrasson, Yaron Herman, Franck Amsallem, Alex Tassel, and Pierrick Pedron, among many others.
Currently, Viktor is working on his first solo album together with Peter Martin and Ulysses Owens Jr.
